The Building Process and views

This is a front view of the system. What I did was build two identical support platforms.
This was used to hold the water and lettuce channels. The only difference on the bottom are the two extra board you see to hold the weight of the water. The actual size of the bottom is 9'6" by 4' 6". The reason for this was for the legs.

The roof is constructed with 1/2" PVC pipe not even glued. Cut the pipe into 5 foot sections for the length and cut smaller pieces to connect the 3 runs. Because the pipe is 3 inches longer than the system, it bows when you attach it.

This side view shows you how I attached the lettuce platform. I actually placed built hold the platform to the frame using 1/4" galvanized bolts. What this did was create a pivot to allow the pitch to be changed. Notice at the right the holes drilled. I think there is a 2 inch difference between the top and bottom. I had too much water at first so I wanted to keep the water moving.

The main feed line is 1/2" (metric) feed line. I think it's like 16mm. The brand is Netafilm. It was purchased from a commercial greenhouse supply company CropKing.

I used 6 mil plastic from Lowes to cover the system.
As you can see from the pictures, I already have added lettuce to the system.
